One aspect of Hops that sets it apart from other facilities is the buy in and understanding of technology such as HitTrax, Trachman, Rapsodo as well as constant video to provide
Premier Coaching
Hops has gathered some of the most forward thinking baseball and softball instructors in New England. One of the first facilities in the northeast to get a HitTrax Rapsodo and Trackman, the coaches have a good understanding of how to blend traditional ways to teach baseball and softball skills with the importance of modern technology. All of the instructors played college baseball/softball with some playing professionally, providing experience as well.
Hitting Baseball & Softball
Hitting is hard. With the advances in pitching, hitting, which was one of the most difficult things in sports, has become that much more difficult. At Hops we have believed for many years that the combination of video, tracking data, drills, and pitching machine work gives both baseball and softball hitters the best chance to succeed. One of the earliest facilities in the country to adopt HitTrax to assist in hitting lessons, we have accumulated thousands of hours of data and video.
Pitching Baseball
Pitching is not one size fits all. Pitchers progress at different ages, move differently and have different throwing schedules in the offseason.
Here at Hops, we use age-appropriate throwing implements, video, and Trackman to adjust movement patterns and pitch profiles, and develop individual throwing programs based on stress from previous year and goals.
Pitching Softball
Headed by George Oliver and his daughter Kiara, the program focuses on not just pitching technique but also on getting the pitchers to move better and more efficiently through a variety of drills. Please contact them directly for lessons and information.
physical therapy
In athletics, you can’t have training without physical therapy and you can’t have physical therapy without training. We see time and time again that these disciplines overlap. The meat and potatoes of training are similar from athlete to athlete depending on age. However, assessing individualized movement pre-workout or integrated into a program is just as important.
At Hops, we try to ensure that an athlete’s bucket is not overflowing leading to an increasing possible risk of injury or decreased performance. The benefit of being under one roof is covering the spectrum of movement from rehab to training to skill performance and being able to intervene if necessary at each level.
